Event day can be hectic and at French Events, we've "been around the block" enough to know this. That is why we want to share some of our experiences with you to make sure your day goes as smoothly as possible. Follow these 10 easy suggestions to make sure your rentals delivery goes off without a hitch (or extra fees!).
#1 CHECK YOUR QUOTE
Your quote should be attached to all of your emails between you and your coordinator and will list your scheduled delivery and pickup times. If these times do not work for you for any reason, please let us know at least one week before your delivery and work with your coordinator to find alternative available delivery or pickup windows.
#2 DOUBLE CHECK THE DELIVERY ADDRESS
Also listed on your quote, the delivery address listed in the top, right corner is where our drivers are going. It is your responsibility to make sure this address is correct. If our drivers are sent to the wrong address, we will have to reschedule delivery and will incur another delivery charge.
#3 GATE CODES-WE NEED 'EM
If your venue or property can only be accessed with a gate code, please tell your coordinator at the time of booking. There are times that we can not reach our clients by phone and will need to access the property during the scheduled delivery or pickup times. Being unable to access the property may result in needing to reschedule the delivery.
#4 WHERE WOULD YOU PARK?
In most cases, we are driving a 15 foot box truck with a 10 foot rear ramp. If there are parking obstacles such as unpaved roads, no place to turn around, low hanging tree limbs, paid parking or street parking, please let us know so we can make the proper preparations.
#5 MOVE OTHER VEHICLES
During your scheduled delivery and pickup windows, please remember to move other vehicles out of loading zones or driveways if at all possible. Our driver will need plenty of clearance to access the delivery/pickup location.
#6 NO CALLS, PLEASE!
If your delivery is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, please do not call us at 10:05 AM...or at 11:05 AM. Your scheduled delivery time is a window, which means we will show up sometime between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM (in this example). If we are not at your location yet, we are working hard at another customer's location and will be texting or calling you as soon as we are on the way to your location.
#7 CURBSIDE DELIVERY
All deliveries are curbside deliveries unless there is a portage and/or setup and strike charge on your quote. This means all rental items will be left within 5-10 feet of our truck. Prior to your scheduled pickup window, all rental items should be returned to this location. If you need the items set up or carried to a final destination by our team, let us know in advance! This requires additional delivery time and additional staff in some cases. We can not accommodate these requests day-of.
#8 KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
Please tell us any information we may need to know in advance of your delivery such as: rough terrain that may affect our ability to use carts/dollys, steps or stairs between our parking spot and the drop off zone, any portage or setup needs.
#9 REMINDERS ARE OUR FRIENDS
When you book your event, please schedule a reminder of your delivery and pickup time either on your calendar or your phone. If we have to reschedule your delivery because pickup items are not ready during your scheduled pickup window or you are not on site to receive your delivery, there will be an additional delivery charge.
#10 MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED
It is a great idea to check with all of your vendors no later than 15 days before your event. You may be assuming that your DJ will bring his own table, but if he does not, we are not able to accommodate last minute additions/changes to the delivery.
To sum it all up, communication is key. Please be courteous or our drivers and considerate of our other clients. Also, tips are greatly appreciated!
Thanks for choosing French Events! Oui look forward to working with you!
